Dan Muller is a college basketball coach who is currently the head coach of the Illinois State Redbirds men's basketball team. He was born on November 8, 1975, in Lafayette, Indiana. Muller played college basketball at Illinois State from 1995 to 1999 and was a key player on the team that made it to the NCAA Tournament in 1998.
After graduating from Illinois State, Muller played professional basketball overseas before beginning his coaching career. He served as an assistant coach at Vanderbilt, Arizona State, and most notably, at Loyola University Chicago under head coach Porter Moser. Muller was named the head coach of the Illinois State Redbirds in 2012.
In his tenure as head coach, Muller has led the Redbirds to multiple postseason appearances, including the NCAA Tournament in 2017. He is known for his defensive-minded coaching philosophy and his ability to develop players. Off the court, Muller is active in the community and is known for his philanthropic efforts.
